Reid is an associate in the firm’s Transactional Practice Group with an emphasis on real estate, land use, food & beverage, and alcohol beverage compliance. Prior to joining CMPR, Reid was an associate at a Napa-based firm, where he counseled companies in the wine industry on issues related to real estate, land use, alcohol beverage compliance, and litigation. Representative matters included assisting with the purchase and sale of nationally-recognized wine brands and related vineyard and winery properties, counseling wineries and tasting rooms through permitting and entitlement processes before local governments, and acquiring a wide array of federal and state licenses for wineries.
Before moving to wine country, Reid was an associate in the San Francisco office of global law firm Quinn, Emanuel, Urquhart & Sullivan LLP, where he practiced intellectual property and antitrust litigation. As a law student at U.C. Berkeley, Reid was an Associate Editor on the California Law Review and was a Research Assistant for Professor Avani Mehta Sood, where he contributed research to a paper that was published in the Stanford Law Review.
